Return to School - General Information

Dear Member,

We hope this email finds you and yours well currently.

It is hard to believe it has been nearly six months since we last taught in our classrooms. Unfortunately, we are returning into the unknown in September and we are aware members are nervous and anxious upon their return. We have been in touch with the SEC, ASTI, TUI and the DES in relation to concerns raised by members via email and through our various social media platforms.

The SEC has been in touch with us on a few occasions and understands our concerns and that our requests are being considered in their meetings with the NCCA & DES. We will update you when we receive further correspondence from the SEC.

Regarding our concerns in returning to the practical room we have had productive discussions with both unions who have been relaying our concerns in their meetings with the DES. This is further to various correspondence we have sent to the DES. Again we will update you when we receive further information.

In the meantime, we recommend you follow the guidelines laid out in the return to schools document released by the DES. We are awaiting further guidance in the coming days which should aid you further in your planning.
